Where we play

polo hooves.JPG

As a club, we train at Offchurch Bury Polo Club, a family-run polo club set in the beautiful grounds of the Offchurch Estate just outside of Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. They provide a fun and friendly polo experience, for their members and those learning to play. Thanks to us, and our training partners Warwick University Polo Club, they’re also one of the most successful university training centres in the UK.

Run by the amazing 3-goal professional polo player Grant Collett, seen above, and his wife Tessa, the club's focus is on grassroots polo for all players — low goal and beginners alike. Grant is also a registered HPA Coach so is more than qualified to help you develop your love for the sport. The club has one full-size polo ground, a chukka pitch, a stick-and-ball practice area, a purpose built, newly renovated 100m by 50m polo arena, and ponies a plenty (suitable for beginners and low goal). So be you a beginner to the sport or already an avid enthusiast, Offchurch is able to cater to your needs.

Located only an hour from University Park, all our members lift share to get to training at Offchurch and tournaments at other clubs around the country. Don’t worry if you don’t have a car though, our Training Secretary will organise lifts before every training session and our Captain will do so before every tournament (see pages 18-20) for more details on training and lift sharing).

Outside of Offchurch, polo is played around the country (and around the World) so you can always find ways to play even outside of term time. Check out the HPA website to find a club near you (https://hpa-polo.co.uk/playing/clubs/find-a-club/) or just simply ask another member — they’ll more than likely know a club near you!
